Steelers Week 6 Grades: 38-7 Win Over the Cleveland Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers week 6 performance against the Cleveland Browns was a thing of beauty. All phases absolutely dominated the Browns, which ultimately resulted in a 38-7 blowout victory.

Steelers Week 6 Grades

Offense

Pittsburgh’s offense had a somewhat slow start to the game. The opening drive started off great but fell apart deep in Browns territory. They were able to get a field goal on that drive, but the next two drives ended in punts.

After those punts, the Steelers scored four touchdowns on their next six offensive possessions. They broke away to a 24-0 lead and never looked back.

The best performance of the day came from James Conner and the offensive line. Conner averaged over five yards a carry and broke the century mark. That coming against a defense that was ranked fourth in the league against the run coming into the game.

Defense

Steelers Week 6 - Devin BushIf there was a higher grade I could give the defense I would.

4 more sacks, 2 more interceptions, and the first defensive touchdown of the year just begin to tell the story of the Steelers defense Sunday. Pittsburgh defense absolutely embarrassed the Cleveland offense.

The Browns put up just 220 total yards on offense and could get nothing going the whole game. Baker Mayfield was under constant pressure and it forced him to make multiple mistakes in the passing game. That included two interceptions thrown to Cameron Sutton and one to Minkah Fitzpatrick that was returned for a touchdown.

Pittsburgh’s defense looked like a Super Bowl contender on Sunday. The only question now is how much the loss of Devin Bush may hurt the team.

Special Teams

This group has been absolutely flawless to start the season.

Chris Boswell made all of his kicks once again. A 35-yard field goal and all five extra-point attempts. Boswell is a huge weapon for the team when he is kicking this way.

Dustin Colquitt continues to have a solid season. He may not be the best punter in the league, but he is helping the Steelers by being consistent and making quality kicks.

Ray Ray McCloud had a couple more exciting returns this week. I truly think it is only a matter of time before he breaks one.
